“Bill Todd has been one of the biggest influences of my life. He made difficult concepts easier to understand and apply. His teaching about every day living has changed the way I look at life.” – Alvin Hayes, Project Manager, Craighead Development

About Me

I have been a public speaker since 1974 starting with an opportunity to speak to  the local Daughters of the American Revolution as a fourth grader.  In my twenty years of pastoral and non-profit work, I addressed over 2000 on weekends,  in person and on video, and hundreds in classes and ministries during the rest of the  week .  Keynotes, breakouts, workshops and retreats allowed me to expand my role as a communicator.

I am regularly sought out as a speaker on issues of relationship, full self-expression, team dynamics, and the integrated life. I am happy to tailor my presentations to meet your organization’s specific needs. My focus is to help you reach the goals that you have set.

I am honored that you are exploring this page.  Thank you for considering me.

Here’s what you can expect from me and my team:

  1. Prompt, professional replies to your phone calls and email messages.
  2. A phone consultation with me prior to your event, so I can better understand how I can best serve you and your audience.
  3. Sharing about your event on my blog and social media channels. (This assumes that your event is open to the public and you want more visibility for it.)
  4. A resource page, created for your attendees. It will include the slides I used in the presentation, along with links to books, articles, and other resources I believe will be helpful.
  5. A quick follow-up communication after the event, to make sure I met your expectations. (I also want to know how you think I can improve.)

Most Requested Topics

Keep in mind that I can present these as a keynote or a breakout session.   I also have half-day seminars and in some cases, can offer the topics in a retreat format.

Though all of my topics developed during my pastoral work, my faith foundation is not right for every context. I am happy to adjust to your needs to help you meet your goals.

Do Overs

Many of us have had time in our lives where we’ve wanted to call for a do-over.  I will encourage and equip your group with helpful tools to revisit and recalibrate toward the most important matters of life.

A Question of Honor

In this talk designed for law enforcement, we look at how the absence of communication, understanding and honor is an unnecessary barrier between the law enforcement community and the faith community. I offer structure and guidance on learning to honor each other in your essential roles and how breaking through this barrier will allow both parties to do a better job of supporting each other in their respective and vital work. When we honor the contribution to the team we find that we can draw out our best and make room for the best of each other to surface.

Pushing Past Fear to Pursue Your Unique Life

You can call it resistance, you can call it the enemy, you can call it a lot of things. You dream of pushing past fear. Fear wants nothing more than to smother the dream that you have. Fear wants to choke out the unique, singular story that God has wired into your life. Fear can only rob from life, it can never give life. This talk focuses on pursuing the life that God has designed just for you. We lay out a path for connecting with other kindred souls, who want healing and life change and want to see their dreams become reality as well.

Pushing Past Fear to Offer Your Best Work

How would you describe the moment where you knew that you were doing your best work? Work that satisfied your soul at the deepest level. When was a time that you pushed past fear, your expectations, the expectations of others, and offered work that came directly from your heart? This talk offers a proven path to identifying and embracing your best work in the profit and nonprofit sectors.

Pushing Past Fear by Flying Your Freak Flag

We all have dreams. But people around us often tell us to ‘be more realistic.’ When they give us this advice, what they usually mean is that we should buy into the same assumptions and prejudices… But atrophy of their own sensibilities has limited their thinking to a shrunken view of reality. Their world is the emotional size of a postage stamp. But yours need not be at all. You are a freak of nature. There is no one else in the world who has your unique combination of genetics, background, and personal experience. You are one of a kind. Make the most of this astonishing fact in your life and work.

You Know the Form, Now Tell the Story

There is truth in the simple phrase “you know the form, now tell the story.” This is the transition point from skill acquisition to ownership to finally using your skill in your life. To inhabit the form requires us to tell our own story. No matter what our “form” or discipline is, the best practitioners in that field often use wildly different techniques. But they all share one trait. A strong sense of personal identity infuses their work. This talk focuses on the degree to which you know and trust your story, and are willing to share – that is the difference between simple existence and profound effectiveness.

Leading at the Speed of Trust

There is one thing that is common to every person, company and group – Trust.  If removed it will destroy the most successful business, the most influential leadership and the greatest friendships. It’s the key reason in your ability to carry out new ideas and work faster with greater results.  Trust is a tangible asset that can be developed, leveraged and recovered if lost.  This workshop will put doable tools into your hands for the decisions you and your teams will be making tomorrow.

Avoiding Emotional Triangles In The Workplace

A lot of anxiety in the workplace has little to do with the workload, deadlines or product delivery.  Anxiety is a product of stress  between people.  This session will give you tools and tips on how to find emotional triangles, avoid unproductive entanglements, and keep up your own contribution without withdrawing or sabotaging the team.

Developing Your High Performance Team

If you have ever worked on a team that had synergy, understood conflict and could resolve issues in a way that energized the team, then you are in the  – minority.  And in this economy, poor fitting parts on a team just won’t cut it.  Using the TGI Role-Based Assessment™ (RBA), we can enhance the performance and productivity of individuals, teams, and entire organizations. TGI has created an innovative way to diagnose and repair team performance problems, by aggregating the results of RBA. The resulting measures and methods can add measurable business value, while providing a renewable resource of material for coaching, succession planning, and management decision making.
